Prawn Biryani is a luscious dish famous in south India, especially in Kerala. It is a dinner made with prawn and rice usually served in special occasions and festivals. This article tells you how to cook a delicious Prawn Biryani.
Ingredients
Prawn ½ kg
Rice 2 cups
Green Chili 6
Ginger Garlic Paste 2 tablespoon
Cumin Seed Powder ½ teaspoon
Coriander Powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric Powder 1 teaspoon
Garam Masala ½ teaspoon
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Small Tomato (chopped) 1
Vegetable Oil 4 tablespoon
Ghee 1 tablespoon
Coriander Leaves
Water
Coconut Milk 2 tablespoon
Salt
Method
First, you need to put the rice in water for half an hour. Then, wash it and drain. After that, transfer it to a pressure cooker and cook it adding required water. Don’t for get to add gee to the rice while you cook it.
Now, you need to clean the prawns. Wash them more than thrice to make your dish tastier. Then, devein them using your hand. Make a mixture of turmeric powder and salt to marinate the prawns. Keep the prawns aside after marinating it. Korean Beauty
Now, pour vegetable oil into a pan and heat it to fry the prawns. When the oil is hot enough, put the marinated prawns into the pan and fry them for less than four minutes. After that, reserve the fried prawns.
Then, take garlic, green chili, ginger, cilantro and grind them. Make a paste adding required water to the grinder and keep it aside. Now, heat the oil, in the same pan you fried the prawn, and fry the chopped onion until it gets a light brown color.
Then, add the paste to the pan and stir it for just four minute. Then, add sliced tomatoes along with other spices and stir it for some time reducing the heat. After that, add the fried prawns and stir it for more than 6 minutes adding some water if required. Then, pour the coconut milk to it and mix well.
Then, take a baking bowl and put half of the rice. Layer the prawn over the rice and put rest of the rice over them. Close the bowl tightly and heat for 2 minutes in a medium flame. After sometime, open it and transfer the hot Prawn Biryani to a serving plate and garnish it with coriander leaves and chopped onion.
