Dairy products should also be avoided by the acid reflux patients. Some examples include ice creams, sour cream, yogurt, cheese, etc. Drinking milk after a heavy meal before bedtime is also not recommended. Deserts such as butter cookie, doughnut, brownie, etc should be avoided too.

Though chicken and fresh fish with low fat can be consumed by the acid reflux sufferers, intake of other meat like chicken nuggets, ground beef, buffalo wings, etc should be strictly avoided. Chocolates are tasty and delicious to eat but if you are an acid reflux patient, you need to avoid them as they contain theobromine, which can worsen your problems. Organic or dark chocolates are comparatively less harmful.

Some other important foods to avoid with acid reflux condition include carbonated beverages, coffee, soda, raw onions, garlic, and peppermint. Never consume any type of alcoholic drinks otherwise your condition will further deteriorate.
