Oats now-a-days have become the fashion food. But, little do we know that from time unknown it has been the most nutritious food without the fats the, the protein, the calories that we have become so conscious about now-a-days. Shelves of the shops are almost over loaded with oats from various brands struggling to be seen and bought! Such is the demand and it is pretty recent. Oats are available all through the year.

Scientifically known as Avena Satvia, Oats gets its different taste and flavor from the roasting process that it goes through. It is the presence of the cholesterol reducing factors that has made the humble Oats so popular as a healthy and nutritious cereal. There are two factors found in oats. One is the soluble factor and the other one is the insoluble. The soluble fiber, known as beta glucans, present in the oats has been found to be quite effective in reducing the blood cholesterol level. Some other benefit of oats are that it can keep blood sugar at bay, keep your blood pressure under control, help you to control your weight, and also enhances your bowel movement. So, if you include a bowl in your breakfast for a powerful start or much it in cookie form, the nutritious value remains intact. It becomes more desirable for the diabetic patients if it’s a sugarless oatmeal cookie!
