Butter chicken is a little variation done to the typical Indian chicken gravy, with dash of cream and butter which makes it appropriate for any party menu. It is best accompanied with roti or naan, which is an Indian variety of wheat bread.

Rich in protein Butter chicken is always on favorite menu of all the kids owing to its sweetish taste. There are various different ways in which it is prepared, but the recipe I am discussing here will help you prepare butter chicken just in half an hour.





Ingredients

Boneless chicken 1 kg



Ginger garlic paste 2 table spoon each.



1 table spoon each of corriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala and turmeric powder.



3 medium sized onions chopped.



3 medium sized tomatoes chopped.



½ table dried leaves of fenugreek.



2 green chilies



2 table spoon butter, some edible orange-red color.



Salt and sugar to taste.

Preparation Method

Wash the chicken pieces nicely and prick with knife. Now rub all over the chicken pieces,1 table spoon of ginger and 1 table spoon of garlic paste. Sprinkle half table spoon each of red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and coriander powder. Keep aside for ½ an hour.

In a pan take 2-3 table spoon of oil and fry the chicken pieces until lightly brown and keep aside in a plate. In the remaining oil in the pan, add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds splutters add onion and fry till golden brown. Add remaining ginger and garlic paste.





Add ½ cup of water so that the masala stuck to the pan is removed. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder, green chilies cashew nuts and dry fenugreek leaves. Fry for some time, now add the chopped tomatoes.

Fry for 10-15 minutes on low flame, stirring continuously. Keep this paste aside for some time till it cools down then blend it into a smooth paste adding ½ cup of water.

Now in a pan add butter, add the blended puree, a pinch of food color, salt, ¼ table spoon of sugar, 1 table spoon of tomato ketchup and the fried chicken pieces. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Transfer into the serving bowl and garnish with cream and all spices curry powder.
