Chocolate Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients Required



For Sheet Cake

2½ cups refined flour



2½ cups sugar



½ cup butter



2 eggs



½ cup vegetable oil



½ cup butter milk



½ tsp baking powder



½ tsp cinnamon powder



1 cup water



¼ cup cocoa powder



1 tsp vanilla extract



½ tsp salt



For Frosting

4 cups icing sugar



½ cup butter



¼ cup cocoa powder



¼ cup milk



½ tsp vanilla extract



½ cup chopped almond



½ cup chopped walnuts Perfume Kenzo amour



Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.  In a small bowl, break open the eggs and add vanilla extract to it. Beat the eggs continuously until they become light and foamy. Sift the refined flour, sugar, cinnamon powder, baking powder and salt together. Set it aside for later use.

2. Place a large sauce pan over a medium flame. Combine butter, refined oil, cocoa powder and water in the pan. Stir the mixture continuously and bring it to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and add the sifted dry ingredients, a few tablespoons at a time, into it. Add buttermilk, beaten egg and mix the contents thoroughly until you get a smooth batter.

3. Grease and line a suitable sheet pan. Pour the cake batter into the pan and place it in the preheated oven. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes. If a tooth pick inserted into the center of cake comes out with a few crumbles, then your chocolate sheet cake is baked to perfection. Allow the cake to cool down for a few minutes. Use a knife to loosen the cake from the edges of the pan. Carefully turn the cake out onto a plate.







4. Now it is time to prepare the chocolate frosting. Place a small sauce pan over a medium flame.  Add cocoa, butter and milk into the pan and bring it to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat, add icing sugar, walnuts, almonds, vanilla extract and blend them well. Spread the frosting over the warm cake.



Serving Suggestion

Serve a piece of cake alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy the complements that come after. Alternatively, spread vanilla ice cream evenly over the surface of the cake and freeze it for an hour. You will get an impressive ice cream topped chocolate sheet cake.
